So one day we were talking on the porch to Elle and we hatched the plan to go to Freeport Maine so that she could have a Lobster dinner. We got the plans all setup then I found out I would be out of work until I could find something else, well the week before we were to leave I got hired on with a new company doing the exact thing so here we go again.
We left Friday after Karin got off work I thought I would be smart and take back roads around Toronto but I think it would have been just as fast to go through traffic than hit all the lights and small roads on a Friday afternoon.

| Maya found the best place to ride was Elle's lap. |
 |
| AHHH beautiful Hamilton from the Skyway. |
| |
| The Locks on the Welland Canal. |
|
|
We crossed the border with no complications and got into Four Mile state park around 8PM we set up camp and had a nice relaxing evening as it was quite warm.
On Saturday we got up and broke camp to get onto the road quite early as it was threatening rain we stopped at the supermarket to pick up fresh fruit and veggies and got onto the NY thruway.
Oh and of course it started to rain.
 |
| Yep Maya is back on Elle's lap |
The sun did finally come out and we had a great trip through upstate New York.
Just as we were crossing into Vermont the clouds came back.
 |
| The typical Vermont Curch |
 |
| The Autumn colours are just starting. |
Dogs will be dogs
 |
| Love me Elle |
 |
| Look at me I'm the good dog. |
We got into Molly Stark state park around 5-6 pm set up camp and Bar-B-Qued some steaks for dinner.
Over night the rain caught to us and it poured buckets, but by morning it had moved on.
We had a nother beautiful drive through Vermont and Hew Hampshire and into Maine.
 |
| Entering New Hampshire |
On the way through New Hampshire we stopped in Canterbury Shaker Village but until Thursday we did not know that NASCAR was holding a Sprint Cup race on the same road, to handle all the trafic they turn a two lane road into a four lane, three one way one the other depending on the time. it was kind of weird driving on the wrong side of the yellow line.
 |
| just to give you an idea how close they are. |
After the madness above we got to the village which was really quite interesting and peaceful.
After we left the village we found the liqueur store as New Hampshire has very low taxes.
We drove along the New Hampshire coast, all miles of it.
And made it to Maine.
We got to Freeport
And went to LL Bean which is about 4-5 times the size it was 20 years ago the last time we were there and it is not a quaint village any more but a outlet town.
Aw finally our Lobster dinner.
 |
| yes that is two lobsters |
 |
| nothing left but shells |
 |
| oh and desert |
 |
| One last Look at LL Bean |
We Spent the Night just outside of town in Bradbury Mountain State park. We got an early starting home.
We left Maine and entered Northern New Hampshire and drove the the very beautiful White Mountains.
On our way back through Vermont
We drove up the islands in the middle of the lake.
Where we entered New York.

| decisions decisions |
Where we went back to the Amanzo Wilder farm this is a very well done facility. we arrived at 4:30 and unfortunately it closed at 4:00 the extremely nice volunteer let us in anyway and gave us a personal tour of the house and barns.
Time to find another campsite
We spent the night at Robert Moses State Park where it was very hard to pay for the night as they closed early and opened late. We awoke to a beautiful fall day and headed home.
We stopped for lunch and almost got stuck under a very low looking tunnel.
But we made it through and managed to get turned around and through again before pulling over for a lunch beside the railroad tracks.
 |
| Maya really wants to drive. |
|
|
We got home a couple of hours later.
