Well for the most part The Galavan has been sleeping under a blanket of snow this winter.
I have been going out and wakening it up once a month to run the engine and the generator for about an hour so I do putt around while I am out there, as it is quite comfortable as I run electric heaters to put the generator under load.
The first thing I did was remove all of the ugly cloth covered valances over the windows, I will need to replace them with something smaller and more elegant as I don't like the looks of the blinds and there is a strip of decorative lights also.
Karin, Meg and I went to the RV show in Toronto a couple of weeks ago just to see what was out there, we were not very impressed with any of the units but we did notice that many have fire places in them.
We had jokingly discussed the idea before after seeing some electric fire places/heaters at Walmart, as we had a big space where the old tube TV was and needed to something with the space. Well last week we were back in Walmart and they were clearing out the fireplaces so we picked one up cheap and I installed the guts on the old TV location, it is amazing how much heat this puts out and being installed as it is we don't have to worry about tripping over a heater or the wire, and it looks pretty good also.
I still need to build a surround and mantel for it.
Hope it starts to warm up soon.
