Trip two... Inverhuron Provincial Park

Karin and I took The Galavan on our second trip last weekend to Inverhuron Provincial Park . OK let me apologize right now I somehow deleted half my Photos from the first part of the trip.

We left after my appointments on Saturday afternoon around 1:30 pm with Karin driving to the gas station. It was her first experience driving any thing this big and she did a great if not somewhat slow job. P.S. It was kind of hard to reach the pedals...need a booster seat! (KS)

After filling up I drove to the park which is near Kincardine On.

 We got to the park around 5pm and setup camp and guess who wanted to go for a walk?

We went for a walk down to the beach as we could hear the surf from our site. The beach near us is a broken limestone shelf that should have been about 2 feet under water but the lakes are so low it is now exposed.

we had a good time hop scotching across the stones surrounded with water.

Inverhuron Park is built next to The Bruce Nuclear Power Plant.

Although the park was there first in 1956 it was closed down in 1976 when the plant started producing heavy water then reopened in 1998 and redeveloped so all the facilities are rather new.

After our walk we had some quiet time in the sun back at The Galavan.

Sunday woke up wet both inside and out. I found out that the Leak we had found in the roof that had got us such a good price on The Galavan was not as well repaired as I though I had done. We spent some time mopping up the drips, had breakfast and went for another walk.

This photo makes it look like the weather was really bad, it was just foggy.

We found the sand beach finally.

We got back to The Galavan had some lunch and I saw that there was a lime kiln left by the settlers in the late 1800's so we went for another walk to try to find it. This turned out to be a major hike that circumnavigated the park.

We ended up at the gate house and found out we had gone the wrong way and had actually passed it on the morning walk.

We spent some time reading in the afternoon.

Kermit wanted to drive but his legs were too short. (Remind you of anything Dave?)

The sun finally came out after burning off the fog so out we went for margaritas mmm

And a short walk.

 Had a great dinner then off to bed, got up Monday morning with a little more rain but it soon ended so we got packed up and headed home.

On the way we past old farms.

And some new.

All in all another great trip. When we got home I was up on the roof and hopefully found the leak and got it fixed this time.
Time will tell.
